This Privacy Policy explains how the iOS game Tetra Empire ("the app," "we," "us") handles your information. The short version: the app keeps your game data on your own device, sends nothing about you off your device, has no accounts, shows no ads, and does not track you. The details are below. This is the same policy referenced from inside the app (in Settings and on the Empire Pass screen) and from the app's App Store listing.
Who we are
Tetra Empire is developed by CypherPoet.

The data the app stores (on your device only)
Tetra Empire saves a small amount of data locally on your device so the game remembers your preferences,
your progress, and your scores between sessions. This data is stored in the app's own local storage (iOS UserDefaults).
It is not uploaded anywhere, is not linked to your identity, and stays on your device.
The app stores four things:
- Settings / preferences โ your audio choices (music and sound on/off, volume levels), haptics on/off, gameplay options (ghost piece, the Empire Pass resource-boost preference), accessibility options (color-blind patterns), and whether you've completed the tutorial. None of this identifies you.
- Aggregate gameplay statistics โ running totals such as games played, lines cleared, the highest age you've reached, and your best score. These are simple counters, not a record of individual sessions tied to you.
- High scores โ your top 10 game results. Each entry holds a score, lines cleared, the age reached, how long the game lasted, the date/time the game ended, and a random ID generated on-device. The end-of-game timestamp is the only time-related data the app keeps, and it is not connected to any personal identity.
- A saved game in progress โ a snapshot of your current game (board, score, and the game's internal state) plus the time it was saved, so you can resume after closing or backgrounding the app. It is cleared automatically when the game finishes or is abandoned.
That's all of it. The app does not store your name, email, contacts, location, photos, health data, or any other personal information, because it never asks for any of it.
What we send off your device: nothing
Tetra Empire contains no networking code of its own. The app does not transmit your game data, settings, scores, or any other information to us or to anyone else. There is no analytics server, no telemetry endpoint, and no cloud backup operated by us.
The app does include two links โ to Apple's standard license agreement and to this Privacy Policy โ but tapping them simply opens those pages in your system browser. The app itself does not fetch or send anything when you do.
The only network activity associated with the app is Apple's own purchase handling for in-app purchases (see below), which Apple performs through its App Store, not through any code we wrote.
Anonymous, on-device analytics
Tetra Empire keeps a small set of anonymous, non-tracking analytics to understand how the game flows โ for example, when a run starts, what age you reached at game over (with score and lines), when a resource stalls, when the Empire Pass screen is shown or results in a purchase, and when the tutorial is completed.
Important facts about these analytics:
- They contain no personal information and no device identifiers of any kind.
- They live only in memory while the app is running and are never written to your device's storage.
- They are never sent off your device โ there is no server to receive them.
- They are discarded automatically the moment the app closes.
In other words, these analytics help the game's own logic during a session and then evaporate. They are not collected, not retained, and not shared.
No tracking, no advertising, no third parties
- No tracking. Tetra Empire does not track you across apps or websites. The app does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA), does not fingerprint your device, and does not present the App Tracking Transparency prompt because it has nothing to ask permission for. The app's privacy manifest declares tracking as disabled.
- No advertising. There are no ads in the app.
- No third-party SDKs. The app bundles no third-party software development kits โ no analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or attribution libraries. It uses only Apple's own frameworks.
- No data sharing or selling. Because the app sends no data off your device, there is no user data to share, sell, or hand to anyone. Consequently, there are no third parties receiving your data, and therefore none that would need to provide equal protection for it.
No accounts
Tetra Empire has no accounts and no sign-in. There is no Sign in with Apple, no Game Center, no iCloud sync, and no login of any kind. The app is fully local and anonymous. The only identity involved anywhere is your existing Apple ID, which Apple uses to process purchases โ see below.
Purchases (handled by Apple)
Tetra Empire offers an optional in-app purchase, the Empire Pass, that unlocks the full game. It is processed entirely by Apple through its standard in-app purchase system (StoreKit). What's offered and its price are shown in the app and on the App Store; this policy covers only how your information is handled.
- Apple handles all payment and billing information and your Apple ID. The app never sees or stores your card number, billing details, or Apple ID.
- The app does not store your purchase records. Whether you currently have the Empire Pass is determined fresh, in memory, from Apple's purchase records each time the app runs, and is verified through Apple's secure receipt checks. Restoring purchases is done through Apple.
- A successful purchase records only an anonymous, in-memory event noting which product was bought (with no information about you), which is discarded when the app closes, as described in the analytics section above.
Apple's handling of your purchase and account information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
The terms of purchase are governed by the standard Apple license agreement linked in the app: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
How long data is kept, and how to delete it
Because all of your game data lives on your device, you are in full control of it.
- Delete the app. Removing Tetra Empire from your device deletes all of its locally stored data โ settings, statistics, high scores, and any saved game.
- Reset inside the app. The app provides a reset that clears your settings (back to defaults), statistics, high scores, and saved game without uninstalling.
- In-memory analytics are not retained at all; they disappear automatically when the app closes.
- There is no server-side data to request deletion of, because we hold none. There is no backend account to close and no online profile to remove.
If you have questions about deleting your data or withdrawing from any data handling described here, reach out via linktr.ee/CypherPoet.
Purchase records are kept by Apple, not by us, and are managed through your Apple ID and the App Store. To review your purchases, manage them through your Apple ID in the Settings app or the App Store, or contact Apple Support. We cannot delete Apple's purchase records on your behalf.
Children's privacy
Tetra Empire is suitable for a general audience. The app does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children. It has no accounts, no sign-up, no profile, no chat or messaging, no advertising, and no off-device data collection, so there is nothing for a child (or any user) to disclose to us. Purchases are gated by Apple's standard payment controls, which parents can manage through Apple's Family Sharing and Screen Time settings.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time โ for example, if the app's features change. When we do, we will revise the Effective date at the top and post the updated policy at this same address. If a future version of the app ever begins collecting or transmitting data differently than described here, we will update this policy, the app's privacy details on the App Store, and the app's privacy manifest to reflect that before the change ships. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
